Been a long time since you could argue a case for six or so but COUFAL shades it

Signing: Coufal
Performance (player): Lingard v Wolves

Young HOTY: Rice

Soucek. Not just for how he plays (attacking, defending, tackling, winning headers, running everywhere, being in the right place at the right time) but for the confidence and motivation he gives the team, which coincided with his arrival and has continued ever since.

Cressy has a wand of a left foot when he puts his mind to it. LOVED watching him this season. Not as much as I've enjoyed watching Coufal though.

But there is a reason he is targeted by the opposition and Moyes is looking for a new lb

Re: Hammer of the year
Rice, you saw our form drop when he was out and Soucek stopped scoring because Rice allows him to go forward, it would also help increase his value when he inevitably sadly leaves.

Soucek close second, Coufal close third, Ogbonna fourth, but could have won it for injuries, likewise Antonio.

No-ones mentioned Cresswell. Has significantly contributed to our season. Most assists, crosses, corners etc.

Just saying.

Re: Hammer of the year
I wonder how much influence Ogbonna has had in Cresswell (often unreliable at defending in the past) stepping up his game.

My vote is Rice.

Re: Hammer of the year
No coincidence at all that our form slumped when Rice missed a string of games.

He is so important in front of that back line. Same with Soucek. Dogs of war, the pair of them.

Coufal is the best right-back we've for many years. Top, top player.

Re: Hammer of the year
When he's played, Declan.

But I would say it has been a close, three-way race between Rice, Soucek and Coufal. And you could make a strong argument for Soucek or Coufal based on them missing fewer games (I think).

All three have been excellent for most of the season. Big shouts, too, to Oggy and Dawson.

For the first time in years, we've had several very good candidates. Lingard has been a breath of fresh air, but only joined in January.

Coufal for me.

Soucek has been excellent, but for me Coufal has been mr consistent.

Soucek Rice Coufal

Case for all of them, happy for either of them to win it

Special mention for Antonio Lingard and Ogbonna

Coufal.
Played every game I think and I've only seen him make 1 mistake. Incredible player.

I've been banging the Coufal for HotY drum since the start of the year.

I'm delighted so many wish for him to get that award.

Re: Hammer of the year
A toss up between Coufal and Soucek, both excellent buys. The only reason I don't include Rice is because he has never denied the continuous claims he will leave in the summer, if he pledged his future to the Hammers he must be one of the best three if not the best. See no point in making him 'Hammer of the Year' and he then leaves!

Re: Hammer of the year
Almost impossible to choose this year.

I'd say its a toss up between Ogbonna, Cresswell and Coufal. Coufal probably edges it just because the other two have missed some games.

Re: Hammer of the year
1. Tommy the Killer Soucek
2. Vlad the Impaler Coufal
3. Rice

I'm struggling to pick between the Czechs.
